This is the day we decided to go to the Louvre. As the oversized Lego mirrored our emotional repulse by the security guard, the guard really just doing his job, it is now a facet of our rambling around the world almost like we have gotten used to things that make our arms raise to our face and make us scream “FUCK!!!”…internally of course and way louder and longer. This day we went to the super secret entrance, you know the one, the staircases in the sandy gravel plaza next to Arc de Triomphe du Carrouselto, the arch with the horsies on top. These staircases lead down to the lower level which avoids the tourist sheep that enter through the glass pyramid entrance. Here is where we easily make our way into the “world’s most visited museum”.
Yup we showed those tourist lambs. Unfortunately we did not have the preparedness that we have had in most of our covid travel existence to check the museum website and see that there are now “time slots” to enter the museum and restrict the amount of people in the museum at one time. A Kevin McCallister moment indeed and what an excellent placement of the statue opposite of the super secret entrance, there to remind us that all is not right with the world and that not just a vaccination card, PLF or your wits can sneak you past the security guard just to see dead people’s art.
