Chocolate Pretzel Oreo Taste Test – Creative Combo or Missed Snack?

Rating: 2 out of 5.

In Venice, Florida, we tracked down a limited edition flavor Chocolate Pretzel Oreos. Featuring a pretzel-flavored cookie with salt on top and chocolate-flavored creme inside, this Oreo aims to mimic a chocolate-covered pretzel. But does it work? The flavor had promise, but for most of us, the execution missed the mark. The saltiness came through, but the cookie lacked true pretzel taste, and the heavy creme overpowered the subtle elements. We even tried combining it with an actual chocolate-covered pretzel for a DIY twist, but it still didn’t beat the real thing. Verdict: fun to try once, but if you love chocolate pretzels, you’re better off buying the real snack. Still, props to Oreo for creativity, just maybe not a repeat buy.

Loaded Oreo Review – Too Much of a Good Thing?

Rating: 2 out of 5.

Back after a four-month Oreo break, we reunited with family in Cottonwood Heights, Utah to try the Loaded Oreo. A mega stuffed version of the classic cookie with triple the frosting. With Peter’s niece joining us (and communicating via signage due to laryngitis), we gave this American-sized sugar bomb a full breakdown. The chocolate cookie held up well, but the thick, dense cream was overwhelming and overly sweet, with a Play-Doh-like texture that left us missing the lighter whipped versions found in Oreos overseas. A dunk in almond milk helped, but not enough to justify the price or calories. Final verdict: fun to try, but too dry and too much. These might work better crushed into ice cream or milkshake form, if you’re committed to the sugar rush.

Trying Peach and Matcha Oreos Abroad – New Favorites?

Rating: 4 out of 5.

While staying in Italy, we discovered a pair of unique Oreo flavors from the nearby Asian market: Peach and Matcha, and put them to the test. Packaged in compact, adorable wrapping (far from the oversized American packs), these cookies were a surprising find. The Peach Oreo delivered a powerful and delicious fragrance that immediately impressed both of us. With just the right hint of fruit and chocolate, it became an instant favorite, better than birthday cake or most mainstream options. The Matcha Oreo, while less sweet and more earthy, had a clean green tea flavor and was more polarizing, especially for Peter who generally avoids matcha. Both cookies were thinner and less sweet than their U.S. counterparts, showing off the subtlety of international Oreo recipes. Our winner? Peach by a landslide.

Lemon Oreo Thins vs Regular – Which One Tastes Better?

Rating: 4 out of 5.

On a rainy day in Ogden, Utah, we took a break from our routine to compare two family-size packs of Lemon Oreos, the classic and the thins. Both packs cost the same, but the thins offered more cookies (48 vs 36) and fewer calories per serving. The real surprise? The thins won hands down in flavor. They had a lighter texture, a stronger lemon note, and even reminded us of fortune cookies in taste. In contrast, the regular version, despite having more filling and a thicker cookie, came off bland and overly sugary. We expected a bolder citrus punch from the full-size Oreos but were left underwhelmed. Our verdict: if you’re after actual lemon flavor, go for the thins, perfect for tea time, a sorbet topping, or just a zesty snack.

Rose Oreo Review – Light, Floral, and Diet Friendly?

Rating: 3 out of 5.

In the historic city of York, England, we tried a rare and delicate Rose Oreo flavor. Set against the backdrop of Roman ruins and medieval city walls, we opened this uniquely perforated box just in time, on its best-by date. These ultra thin cookies feature a subtle floral scent and lightweight chocolate base, but reactions were mixed. Peter detected the rose notes immediately, likening them to rose gelato, while Kirsten found them too bland to be memorable. With minimal calories and a super light texture, these diet-friendly Oreos are more novelty than indulgence. Not your average cookie review, but a charming flavor experiment in one of England’s most beautiful cities.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

In this video, we wrap up our two week stay in York, UK, with a taste test of a unique strawberry flavored Oreo found at an Asian market in Harrogate. After waiting for Peter to recover his sense of taste, we finally dig in, hoping for that soft fluffy cream typical of Asian Oreos. While the cookie delivers a strong Nesquik like strawberry aroma and a smooth texture, thankfully not granulated like some U.S. versions, it falls short of top tier Oreo greatness. The flavor reminds us of a chocolate covered strawberry, and while it is enjoyable, it does not beat favorites like Peanut Butter Pie or Red Velvet. Still, if someone gifted us a box, we would happily snack on it.

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Filmed in Aix-en-Provence, France, we try a special Oreo treat: Enrobed White Chocolate Oreos. Each cookie is fully coated in smooth white chocolate, and despite Kirsten not being a fan of white chocolate, she admits to already finishing a box before this taste test. With individually wrapped packs containing two cookies each, this limited box of 12 was a sweet splurge at €5. The rich white chocolate shell complements the classic Oreo vanilla cream for a dessert-like twist. We compare it to Easter white chocolate and even deep-fried Oreos from fairs in the U.S. Peter rates it in his top ten Oreo flavors, highlighting the creamy texture and well-balanced sweetness. A delicious birthday-month indulgence in the heart of Provence.

Choco Brownie Oreos from the UK – Brownie Batter Bliss

Rating: 5 out of 5.

While exploring Highgate in London, we discovered a uniquely British Oreo flavor called Choco Brownie, which features a brownie batter style creme inside a chocolate biscuit. Originally released in 2017 after nearly half of the UK population expressed interest in brownie flavored Oreos, this treat comes in a low commitment pack perfect for travel. We also clear up a long running mispronunciation: the Oreo producer is Mondelez, correctly pronounced Mon-deh-leez. The packaging shows American symbols but uses British spelling, a fun mix of international branding. While the creme layer is thinner than US versions, the flavor is rich and would pair well with a cup of cocoa. These are among our top ten, even if they lean more toward a thin Oreo experience. Keep an eye out if you are in Europe, as these are not always easy to find in the United States.

Rose, Cocoa Straws, Matcha & Coca Cola

Rating: 3 out of 5.

At the Hampton Inn near Edinburgh Airport, we wrapped up our time in Scotland with a late night Oreo taste test before catching an early flight to France. While exploring downtown Edinburgh, we discovered an Asian grocery shop with a variety of rare Oreo products, and we tried them all in one go. We revisited the rose flavored Oreo for a re-review after Kirsten’s recent illness dulled her taste, and confirmed it still tastes like perfume, but Peter is a fan. Next, we sampled Oreo cocoa wafer straws, which are light, crispy, and more cocoa than Oreo. Then came the Japanese matcha flavored Oreo sticks, which Peter bravely endured despite his dislike of matcha. Finally, we tested the limited edition Coca Cola Oreo flavored Coke, which tastes like a mix between cream soda and vanilla Coke—surprisingly pleasant but lacking any distinct Oreo flavor. As a bonus, we used the Oreo wafer sticks as straws. This international Oreo haul from Edinburgh was full of surprises, with more to come as we head to France.

Pumpkin Spice Oreo Taste Test – Fall Flavor with a Twist

Rating: 3 out of 5.

While in Venice, Florida, we gathered with family to try the seasonal Pumpkin Spice Oreo, joined by guest taste testers Valerie and Steven. This limited edition fall release features golden Oreo cookies with a spiced pumpkin creme filling. Reactions were mixed—some enjoyed the warm notes of ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg, while others found the flavor overly sweet and lacking in true pumpkin depth. A spontaneous kitchen experiment led to the winning idea of adding cream cheese, which transformed the cookie into something reminiscent of pumpkin cheesecake. We also tested peanut butter, but that combo was a definite miss. The takeaway? Pairing this cookie with coffee or cream cheese might be the key to unlocking its full potential.

Coca-Cola Oreo Taste Test – Fizz, Pop, and Family Reactions

Rating: 4 out of 5.

In Venice, Florida, we welcomed a special guest, Kirsten’s cousin Christina, whom she met for the first time thanks to Ancestry and Facebook, for a unique Oreo taste test featuring the limited edition Coca-Cola Oreos. These red and black sandwich cookies include popping candy in the creme, designed to mimic the fizzy sensation of drinking soda. The smell is unmistakably Coca-Cola, but the flavor leans more toward a subtle vanilla Coke or Coke Zero. Reactions were mixed, some of us enjoyed the playful popping texture and creamy filling, while others felt the cookie was more of a novelty than a flavor standout. The cookie’s golden Oreo base is dyed red and paired with a traditional chocolate cookie, sandwiching a generous double layer of cream. While this might not top our favorite Oreo list, it’s definitely a fun, conversation-starting snack and worth trying before it disappears from shelves.

Dark Chocolate Oreo Review – Less Sweet, More Sophisticated

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Again from Venice, Florida, we gathered with guest tasters Mort and Linda (aka Mom and Dad) for a special taste test of Dark Chocolate Oreos, paired with one of their favorite red wines—a Petite Sirah from Costco. These Oreos feature a rich, dark chocolate creme that looks almost black and is less sweet than the classic white filling. While the cookie didn’t deliver a strong dark chocolate aroma, it earned high marks for depth of flavor and a more mature, balanced sweetness. We also revisited Kirsten’s cream cheese hack, but this time the wine pairing clearly won. The dark chocolate filling complemented the red wine beautifully, creating a surprisingly elevated dessert moment. Our verdict: these Oreos may not be bold in sweetness, but they are smooth, rich, and a great match for a wine night.

Trying Birthday Cake Oreos with Our Kids Sweet or Too Sweet?

Rating: 4 out of 5.

In Roswell, Georgia, we wrapped up our U.S. Oreo journey with the whole family by trying the classic Birthday Cake Oreo, a flavor that originally launched in 2012 to celebrate Oreo’s 100th birthday. Joined by three of our four children, we dove into this ultra sweet cookie with its thick vanilla frosting creme, chocolate cookie base, and colorful sprinkles. While some of us loved the rich, frosting-forward flavor, others found it overwhelmingly sweet and reminiscent of regular Oreos with just a bit more sugar and flair. Seth shares the cookie’s backstory, while Reese and Riley joined the fun with reactions and flavor notes. Verdict: a festive cookie that’s fun to try but might not become a regular in the pantry, unless you’re celebrating a birthday or just love super sweet snacks.
